The badge
A link back to your listing, and 30 days of Featured the first time we can see it.
What it means
It means the practice has a listing on The Tooth Directory and has linked to it. That is all it means.
It is not an accreditation, an endorsement or a quality mark. We do not inspect practices, we do not assess clinical work, and displaying the badge does not change a practice's position on any of oureditorially ranked pages. If you are a patient who arrived here by clicking one, the useful thing on the other end is the listing itself: what the practice offers, what we have verified, and what other people rated it.
Adding it to your site
Claim your listing, then copy the snippet from the Badge page in your dashboard — it comes with your own profile URL already filled in. It looks like this:

The first time we fetch your homepage and find the link, we turn on Featured for 30 days. Once per practice — it is a way to try paid placement, not a standing discount. You do not need to enter a card, and nothing starts charging when it ends.
We re-check occasionally. If the badge comes down we stop showing the practice as verified, but we do not cut a trial short that is already running.
How we fetch your page
The check requests your homepage once, identifying itself asTheToothDirectoryBot, and respects your robots.txt. It reads the links on the page and nothing else. There is more about our crawler on thebot page.
Using the mark
Use the SVGs as they are, at 160–240 pixels wide, linked to your own listing. Please do not recolour them, add text, or use them to suggest an endorsement we have not given. If your listing comes down, please take the badge down too.
